Energy Dependence Concerns 28 Years Ago!

Anytime somebody asks the question "why didn't we do something sooner"? Or, "why weren't there ideas sooner". Remember that in 1980, Jimmy Carter said the words above. This isn't an endorsement of him, or his ideas, and it can be said that he was not the only one to see an impending problem. That was 28 years ago. Time wasted ... money wasted. And it can be argued that our security and even lives were sacrificed because we didn't act sooner to answer the energy questions. I can only imagine how different our lives would be had we stepped to the plate in the 80s or 90s to push electric cars, nuclear power, wind energy, and solar energy. I am fearful to think of 28 years from now, when China and India become the force we already know they are becoming. If the situation was urgent in 1980, it is extremely urgent today.
